The content of Childhood’s End brings some interesting social, moral, and ethical issues to light regarding the book’s society and our own society in which we live. From the Prologue when they first arrive, the Overlords' secrecy and behavior cause us to seriously consider the "what if..." questions.
Throughout the rest of the novel, keep a progressive journal on the computer. Start the journal by looking at what has happened in the novel so far and consider questions the book raises within you. What unexpected events occur within the book that cause people to rethink basic things they do on a daily basis? What behaviors of the Overlords are disturbing?
